My Freelance Life

Once upon a time, I was a journalist working in the deep dark depths of the Old Bailey, reporting on some of the country’s grizzliest crimes and most audacious frauds. My shorthand speed was furious, my temper even worse.

Fast forward a few years (quite a few), and instead of tottering around in heels and wearing smart clothes, you’ll find me on the sofa (or in a coffee shop) still writing, less furious and working with some lovely clients.

Writing professionally since leaving university many, many, (many) moons ago, and copywriting since 2015, I adore working with small businesses to help them grow and maximise their potential. I’ve worked with newly formed companies and solopreneurs, established businesses and website designers across a variety of industries.

Some of the stranger things I’ve written about include a script for a video about a kebab shop, an in-depth case study on HVAC (so boring I’m not even going to tell you what this stands for) systems and lots and lots of content about teeth (insert cliché about biting off more than you can chew).

I have had the pleasure of helping two prominent lifestyle/supplement businesses start their business journey, and took on the challenge of creating engaging copy (all that science stuff is NOT easy to make interesting), blogs and general website content.

As well as working alongside passionate women’s health advocates, make-up artists and wedding suppliers, I love learning about new businesses, and aligning their copy with their business goals.

More recently, I have focused on property writing. From brochures to website content, estate agencies to developers. If you’re selling, renting or managing property, my words will help.

Instead, I’m honest, open and get excited about my clients’ work. I probably talk too much, but I’m committed to helping small, growing brands shake their maracas, toot their horns and make their brand voice heard.
